Generation Strathaven

March 15 @ 10:00 am - April 14 @ 4:00 pm

Between January and March 2020, Creative Strathaven ran a project called ‘Generation Strathaven’ with pupils at Strathaven Academy, and exhibited their artwork in a final exhibition, ‘Our Generation Strathaven’.
However, despite their best laid plans they had to close the exhibition after 3 days due to Covid-19 (the exhibition opened two weekends before the first lockdown). But Generation Strathaven is back for four weekends from Friday 15th March-Sunday 14th April!

As well as having some of the original artwork from 2020 on display, other artworks created in conjunction with the first exhibition will be exhibited. Also planned is a series of local history talks, and there’s going to be an opportunity for anyone aged 18 or under to contribute to the exhibition itself (more on that later).

So come and visit ‘Generation Strathaven’ at The Strathaven John Hastie Museum at 10 Todshill Street from 10am-4pm Fridays and Saturdays, and from 1.30pm-4pm on Sundays.

Strathaven CARS and Creative Strathaven worked in collaboration to deliver a living heritage project through education and art at the beginning of 2020.
The aim was to use art to document Strathaven at that moment in time through the eyes of Strathaven people young and old.
